Instructions :
1. Each question is followed by four alternatives (i), (ii), (iii) and (iv). Only one alternative is the correct answer, which should be marked by darkening the circle completely with BLUE BALLPOINT PEN only OMR response sheet provided separately.
2. Rough work, if any may be done on the question paper and at all on the OMR response sheet.
1. We need to resistor of value 47 KΩ with ±5 tolerance. The sequence of the color band on this resistor should be
i) Yellow, violet,yellow and gold
ii) Yellow, violet,orange and gold
iii) Yellow, violet,orange and silver
iv) Yellow, violet,brown and silver
2. In a practical voltage source, the source resistance is
i) Very low compared to load resistance
ii) Very high compared to load resistance
iii) equal to load resistance
iv) Zero
3. In a full wave rectifier the current in each of the diode flows for
i) the complete cycle of the input signal
ii) half cycle of the input signal
iii) less than half cycle of the input signal
iv) Zero time
4. We use a crystal oscilltor because
i) it gives high output voltage
ii) it works at high effciency
iii) the frequency of oscillatons remains substantially constant
iv) it requires very low dc
5. The output resistance of an ideal amplifier is
i) infinite
ii) very small
iii) Zero
iv) very large
6. Harmonic distortion in amplifiers is caused by
i) presence of short noise
ii) non linearity of active device
iii) defective active device
iv) due to feedback
7. In bipolar junction transistor, input excitation may be
i) a current signal
ii) volatage signal
iii) both a and b
iv) none of these
8. The equivalante dB gain remains unaltered if the power level is increased or decreased by the same factor, i.e. an increase in dB gain when power level changes from 4 to 8 watts is the same as the increase in dB gain whene it would change from 8 to 16 or 16 to 32 watts. The statement is
i) true
ii) false
iii) it may or may not be
iv) none of these
9. Current gain of an amplifier in commen Base (CB) configration is
i) unity
ii) alaways greater than 1
iii) alaways less than 1
iv) all of these
10. Configration used to connect a high impdance source to a low impedance load is
i) Common Emitter (CE)
ii) Common Collector(CC)
iii) Common Base (CB)
